Armed suspect fatally shot by police after carjackings, pursuits in Franklin/Oak Creek identified

FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office (MCMEO) has identified the man shot and killed by police in Franklin on Friday, Sept. 3.
Officials say his name is David Wayne Marshall Jr. He is a 31-year-old man from Milwaukee.
An autopsy is reportedly scheduled for Monday, Sept. 6.

FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An armed suspect is dead after carjacking two separate drivers and leading police on pursuits in Franklin/Oak Creek Friday morning, Sept. 3.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, just after 8 a.m., a 31-year-old Milwaukee man armed with a gun carjacked another man and directed him to the Walmart store near 27th and Holt. Both went inside and returned to the vehicle.
The sheriff's office says the two then went to a nearby gas station and the victim went inside and alerted an employee to call the police. The two returned to another Walmart store -- near 27th and Sycamore -- where the victim once again notified an employee to call police.

Multiple agencies responded to Walmart, including the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, and Oak Creek and Franklin Police Departments.
The sheriff's office says a pursuit with the suspect began and subsequently ended in a crash at which time the armed suspect jumped out of the vehicle and carjacked another driver. The suspect led authorities on another pursuit that ended in another crash near 27th and Sycamore.
Following the second crash, authorities say the armed suspect exited the vehicle with a firearm, and deputies from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office and officers from the Oak Creek and Franklin police departments discharged their weapons. The suspect was struck and ultimately succumbed to his injuries after life-saving measures were performed.
Cellphone video captured the shootout with police.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
Multiple deputies from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, multiple officers from the Oak Creek Police Department and one officer from the Franklin Police Department discharged their weapons during the shootout, according to the sheriff.
The West Allis Police Department is the lead agency on the investigation.
Details on the suspect have not been released.
